The company was founded in 2005 when employment lawyer Jon Curtis had a vision: “To create an online work environment that promotes creativity and productivity and enables companies to grow and succeed because they’re able to focus on the things they do best.”

Bob Teasdale joined myhrtoolkit in 2012 and has overseen the expansion and strengthening of myhrtoolkit through a period of sustained growth. In 2021, he was appointed the Managing Director of myhrtoolkit, following our buyout by the Agilio Group.

Kit Barker has had a long association with myhrtoolkit, becoming our Chief Technology Officer in 2014. Kit’s background is in developing successful Software as a Service platforms, with a strong focus on infrastructure and application security.
As well as his own hands-on programming with native PHP and frameworks such as Laravel, Lumen and Zend, he leads the development team in innovation and extending the myhrtoolkit application. Kit regularly writes for our blog on security topics for SMEs.
Jon Curtis was instrumental in setting up myhrtoolkit as an HR system initially offered to his employment law clients. As the application’s functionality was seen to benefit a wide variety of companies, it was soon opened up to the SME marketplace.
Jon’s background is in Employment Law means that myhrtoolkit has always been based on a solid understanding of UK employment regulations, as well as the needs of SMEs. Jon currently acts as HR Strategy Director across the Agilio Group.
Lindsay Dale is myhrtoolkit’s Accounts Manager, who joined us in 2017 and has become an essential member of the team. Lindsay manages all our financial transactions, cashflow forecasting, suppliers, payroll, financial reporting, and even does some ad hoc office duties to boot!
Simon is myhrtoolkit’s Sales and Support Team Leader, who has been with the business since 2014 and has become an integral part of the company. He leads the customer engagement team in all aspects of the customer journey.
Marie is myhrtoolkit's Partnerships Manager, helping our software partners make the most of providing our HR software to their clients. Before joining myhrtoolkit and moving to Sheffield, Marie worked in consultancy and relationship management roles for Deloitte in London.
Fiona Sanderson joined myhrtoolkit in 2019 as Marketing Manager to lead the company’s marketing efforts, having previous experience managing marketing functions for both in-house companies and a marketing agency.
Cliff Hewson joined the team in 2020 as Marketing Manager, initially on an interim basis, but soon signed on permanently, alongside running his own marketing and web design company. Fiona and Cliff share the Marketing Manager position, bringing different and complementary knowledge and skills to the role.
