In addition to celebrating 10 years in business, UK-based HR software company myhrtoolkit has just sailed past the 28,000 user mark for its system.
The brainchild of employment lawyer Jon Curtis, myhrtoolkit was launched in 2006 to provide small and medium-sized companies with access to automated tools to streamline their HR function.
Jon recognised that businesses were growing increasingly confident in the security of online software and was convinced of the benefits that Software-as-a-Service had to offer.
Jon says: “Before online software solutions, businesses had to make a large upfront investment to have bespoke in-house HR software developed. Maintenance costs were high and staff could not access the system remotely to carry out their own HR tasks, such as requesting holidays. As Software-as-a-Service addressed all of these issues, it was clear that this was an opportunity with a lot of growth potential.”
In fact, demand for online software has grown significantly since myhrtoolkit was launched, with recent research by the Cloud Industry Forum revealing that over four in five UK organisations have now formally adopted at least one Cloud service.
One of the major drivers for online software adoption is the ability to get “corporate level” software into businesses that previously would not have been able to afford it. The model of paying a monthly rental fee rather than a huge upfront investment suits SME businesses.
From its small start, myhrtoolkit has now become a fully-fledged player in the UK HR arena, providing its software to 28,000 users across more than 500 business customers.
Bob Teasdale, Operations Director of myhrtoolkit, has been responsible for driving business growth since joining the business three years ago.
Bob says: “We have hit some major customer milestones over the last couple of years and anticipate strong and continued growth in the future as we develop further functionality within our software.”
