Myhrtoolkit moving infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform

In the coming months we will be changing where we store data. This is a fairly significant move for us, but customers won’t notice it at all.

We will be migrating the majority of our own HR platform infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Don’t worry; we have carried out a thorough audit before making this decision and GCP is a fully secure and certified platform which offers an enhanced level of security which our customers expect and demand from myhrtoolkit. You can review the certifications GCP hold on their website.

Although GCP has a global infrastructure, myhrtoolkit remain in control of where we store data, the architecture we have built will keep all information within the EEA and myhrtoolkit is still bound by our privacy policies.

Using GCP brings a host of additional benefits, one of the key reasons for making this change is that we will have the ability to upscale our server capacity instantly, meaning our service will be available more of the time and performance will be optimised regardless of how many people are using it.

The transition itself will be seamless. When the changeover is complete it will appear as though nothing has changed, toolkit users will still use the same address to login to the app, as well as the same credentials.

Why are we moving to Google Cloud Platform?

Our development team are brimming with new ideas of how we can make the toolkit even better. We are constantly trying to improve the service we offer to our customers. This will provide a ground work for future improvements to the delivery of the service.

Will my access to myhrtoolkit be disrupted?

There will be a short period of time where you will not be able to access myhrtoolkit services. This will be outside of normal office hours (likely at the weekend). You will be notified closer to the time of the specifics.

Will my myhrtoolkit remain GDPR compliant?

Yes. We are simply changing our hosting partner, all data will remain in within the EEA and myhrtoolkit is still bound by our privacy policies. Post Brexit, it is likely that all existing EU legislation will become UK law, suggesting minimal change.
